The creativity process in jewelry design (or how I go from 0 to 60)
How I go from 0 to 60 in my creative process for jewelry design!
Before I get into my entire process, let me first say that everyone who designs jewelry has a different process in creating. My process changes depending on the type of piece I'm creating. This infographic depicts a simplified process of the start to finish process of creating a piece. Sometimes it is this easy, other times I need to walk away from the piece for a day (sometimes even longer!).
It may sound funny, but at times the gemstones-beads-wire "tell me" what they'd like to be. No, the items do not actually speak to me (although that would be amazing!) Sometimes, when looking at a stone, the lines/color/shape will dictate the best possible design. When I use beads, I lay out my potential design on my beadboard. This allows me to see the design before I string all those beads. It's easier to make changes this way.
I hope this gave you a little insight into my craziness in designing jewelry!
SPOTLIGHT - BMB "Boost My Business" Coaching
Recently I was lucky enough to meet an amazing woman, Donna Scharfenberg of BMB "Boost My Business" Coaching. She runs a wonderful Facebook Group, Boost My Business in addition to her fan page. I first "met" her through the group. She provides such amazing business advice and tips (for free in the group, how amazing is that?)
This coming Thursday I will be getting a free 30 minute coaching session from Donna. In next week's post I will talk about that experience. Hopefully it will inspire each of you who may be interested in her services to give her a holler! At the very least, if you have a business, I urge you to join the group. The information shared there is invaluable.
