Wonderful Women Wednesday on Thursday
I know, I know, it's Thursday. Unfortunately I have some family health issues going on so I was not able to get the post out yesterday. But better late than never!
There are currently 1.9 millions AIDS orphans in South Africa (http://ubafrica.org/about-us/the-need/hivaids-and-children/) and the numbers are growing. South Africa’s HIV and AIDS epidemic has had a devastating and tragic effect on children. The Hakuna Matata House was estabilished to help these children affected by tragedy.
This week's Wonderful Women Wednesday spotlights a woman who is working hard to create the strongest roots for the children in need of South Africa. The Hakuna Matata House founder, Rebecca Kemp Pogir! Here is a quote from her organization's website
"The Hakuna Matata House is a house for orphaned, destitute, and abandoned children in Johannesburg, South Africa. It was created in 2012 by Rebecca Kemp Pogir. We are currently doing fundraising in order to open the house in November 2016. We will provide all children at the HM house with around the clock care, education, proper nutrition to eradicate malnutrition, and medical care as well as psychosocial rehabilitation through play and counseling . Our goal is to give the children of the HM house a fresh start and to equip them to lead happy and healthy lives.

Fundraising is our main priority right now. Our house will be a 3 to 4 bedroom house in Johannesburg and we are looking for volunteers and donations including money, baby clothes, baby supplies, formula, baby food. Please contact kemp.rl@gmail.com if you would like to donate. We will have a fundraising page up shortly."
How amazing (and gorgeous) is this family? Rebecca is not only a mother to her own children, but in a way she's a mother to the children she's trying to help. I urge everyone to please visit the Hakuna Matata House's Website and Facebook Page to learn more and to help out.
